Checklist for selling your property: Prepare for your departure

1) Plan the administrative procedures

Notice of move: 
Inform your property manager of your move. (if applicable)

Cancellation of contracts :
Contact service providers (electricity, gas, water, internet) to arrange the termination or transfer of contracts.

2) Organize the move

Moving Company:
Contact and confirm the date with the moving company or arrange a vehicle rental.

Inventory :
Make an inventory of your belongings for the move.

Insurance :
Check your insurance policies for moving and adjust if necessary.

Storage :
If necessary, arrange temporary storage space for your belongings.

Transportation of goods :
Plan the transport of your valuables or sensitive items.

Utilities :
Notify the public services and local authorities of your move.


3) Communication with the notary and the real estate agent

Coordination :
Make sure that all the necessary information is in the possession of the real estate agent and the notary.

Dates :
Confirm the date of signature of the final deed with the agent and the notary.



4) Prepare the property for sale

Cleaning :
Clean the property thoroughly, including outdoor areas such as the garden or balcony.

Final Inspection:
Make a final inspection of the property to make sure it is in the condition agreed for sale.

Keys :
Prepare all sets of keys to the property for handover.

Dates :
Make sure that buyers or their representative will be able to access the property for the final visit before signing.
